Members of the public, carers and patients can now sign up for a three-week online course to learn how medical research is improving health care.

The NIHR is running the course to explain what’s involved in health research, bust common myths and suggest ways to get involved. Learners will hear from people who have taken part in research, understand why they volunteered and the difference it can make. “Everyone should be given both the opportunity to take part in research and to make decisions which are right for them when choosing whether or not to join a study,” explains John Castledine, Head of Learning and Development at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
